Hi all. I'm based in Hermanus & Stellenbosch and am both super excited and 'n bitjie nervous about getting out on my bike as I haven't ridden for many years and never in S Africa before. I look forward to joining group rides in the Spring and meeting other riders.

My name is Ruan Niehaus, married, lives in Oude Westhof and recently bought a G650GS which my wife and I are exploring the western cape every weekend with. Stopped riding for a couple of years so a little bit rusty but loving the road again.

I grew up as a pillion (from age of 2). I eventually allowed my husband to buy a bike and after taking it for a few spins, bought one for myself a month later!

I'm a mom to identical twin girls who are already irritated with all the "bike talk"!
